Sandfire Extends High-Grade La Juliana Find as Quarterly Copper-Equivalent Output Falls
Follow-up drilling at Sandfire Resources’ La Juliana prospect in Spain extended high-grade polymetallic mineralisation to approximately 160 metres of strike, with surveys indicating it may extend at least 350 metres; the company plans to add a drill rig to assess the system further. In the September quarter, group copper-equivalent production was down 19% from the previous quarter but up 9% year on year, and Sandfire retained its FY27 production, cost and capital expenditure guidance. It reported over $480 million in quarterly sales revenue and over $270 million in underlying EBITDA, while net cash eased from approximately $350 million at the prior quarter-end after returning funds to shareholders through a dividend.
